Talk About, Indie-pop Music

If you, like me, like it when indie pop bands shroud their feelings in layers of fuzz, like a teenager growing out his bangs, the better to shield himself from the malicious eyes of the world, than you will adore The Pains of Being Pure at Heart (pictured; aww!), who play tonight at Union Pool. They're on a bill topped by Secret History, who you will like if you like lush, super-harmonized neo-new wave, and also featuring My Teenage Stride, who you will like if you like literate, hooky, jangly Glasgowgaze (it's a genre I just made up, to describe bands who sound like Orange Juice and Aztec Camera and so on). If you like that, incidentally, well, you're in good company, or at least our company.
