A (Multi-Media) Reading (That's Less of a Reading Than a Video, Really)

Today's Reading is actually not really a reading, because it's from a movie. Specifically, the birth seen of last year's landmark Children of Men. Children of Men, you'll recall, opened on Christmas, and was about a woman who was pregnant with a baby that would redeem humanity. (One of the many, many ways the movie is smart about its politics and symbolism is that the birth occurs in a refugee camp, which would I suppose be the 21st century equivalent to a manger.) So come on, it's seven days before Xmas, let's get messianic.
