O Canada Day

To you, but especially to all the Canadians, past and present, who have passed through the L and embettered our lives with their dry wits and punctuality (in some cases), I would like to wish a happy Canada Day. Yes, it was on this day in 1982 that Canada drove the redcoats out. Congratulations, Canada! There are an awful lot of you in the office today. If I lived in Canada, would I be expected to work this Friday? God, it must be awful for you.
