So, Summerscreen Happened, As Several Thousand of Your Friends and Neighbors Can Attest

Posted by Mark on Wed, Jul 9, 2008 at 12:30 PM

So last night "more people than I've ever seen in the same place at the same time" (per one L employee) showed up at the McCarren Park Pool to kick off Summerscreen by hanging out, eating food, drinking beer, and watching Wet Hot American Summer, introduced by cast members Michael Showalter, Joe Lo Truglio and Paul Rudd, who you can see below in our slideshow, along with a hell of a flickr page's worth of pictures from the long tailgating session that preceded the movie.

The next L event is Friday's Literary Upstart finale, of course; next week's Summerscreen, on Tuesday as always, is of Sofia Coppola's Virgin Suicides. The park's gates open up at 6pm, which should give you plenty of time to get good and liquored up, sample the food from Smoke Joint, San Loco and Blue Marble Ice Cream, and enjoy the live music before the film starts at dusk. Sorta like this:
