Special Events To Do, in Two Weeks: Revenge of the Book Eaters

The time is now to plan ahead, you literary lovebugs and audiophile alligators! The now-annual Revenge of the Book Eaters -- a benefit for 826 NYC -- will be held at Town Hall on October 7th, and the lineup is looking pretty damn awesome from over here, even given my hopelessly muddled opinion of Ira Glass. Am I in love with him? Do I hate myself for loving him? Did the Showtime show ruin the TAL experience, or did I just get over it? It's all very confusing.
Blargh, the pertinent event details are as follows:
Hosted by The Daily Show's John Oliver, the program features the
aforementioned Ira Glass, Department of Eagles (dudes from Grizzly
Bear), Dave Eggers, Thao Nguyen (from Thao With The Get Down Stay Down) & Zach Rogue (of Rogue Wave), Eric Bogosian reading
a new play by Jonathan Franzen, and a very special appearance by
Paul Simon. Tickets range in price from kinda expensive to very, but remember, it's a benefit and it will make you feel good and intellectual while the banks crash.
