A third and final addition to my previously suggested round-up of stuff To Do, Tonight.
Due to the fact that the world is falling apart at the seams and all anyone cares about now is Thursday's Veep debate and that silly old "rescue" plan, it may have slipped your mind that there's a new buzzed about rom-com starring Michael Cera and Kat Dennings coming out! It's called
Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist. OMG, what a title. Remember now? It had the kind of hah-hah kill-yourself-adorbs
Juno-esque previews that make your broken heart go squish in spite of yourself, the same way those "Get Off the Internets, You IMing Loser!"
Dentyne subway ads with the pictures of the attractive kissy-face people do. Oh, and you know how you maybe planned to see this moviefilm by yourself on opening night (October 3!), accompanied solely by a box of tissues and some Halloween fun-sized Twix you got on sale at CVS that you solemnly wedged into your bag beforehand? There I go, giving away my weekend plans again...
In celebration of the next film that will make me cry more middle-class white girl tears in public and further cement Cera's dork-throb status, The L
is co-sponsoring what is sure to be a riotous Battle of the Bands
tonight at Union Pool. Participating outfits include The Royal Chains,
Black Taxi, Red Wire Blue Wire, Blue Sky Law, and The Yes Way.
(Apparently, bands named after colors are the new bands named after
esoteric animals!)
Did I mention there will be Nick and Nora-themed giveaways? That admission is free? And that doors open at 8pm? There will be, it is, and they are.
Wear waterproof mascara, and bring your dark sunglasses, friends. You never know when you'll need them.
