Yes, New York Cares. New York Cares so much that on Monday night, there is "a night of music, comedy, & weirdness" at the Knitting Factory with all proceeds from the $20 doors benefitting New York Cares (also bring a winter coat to donate, for the cold people). $20 is a lot of money, what does that get me, you ask, because you are callous and would never give $20 to a worthy organization such as New York Cares unless there was something in it for you. Well, you are lucky (& a bad person) because your $20 gets you free PBR for two hours starting when the doors open at 7pm, and also performances by heartless funnyman David Cross, bussy singer-songwriter Marnie Stern (the Eddie Van Halen of freak-folk? I honestly can't keep track anymore), along with many others, and also food, "humans in cages, live art installations... assorted weirdness." You don't say.
