Niche Foreign Film Survival Guide: As Tears Go By vs. As Tears Go By and As Tears Go By, 2

Our Survival Guide is an occasional feature in which we helpfully delineate the differences between two things with different-sounding names. Today, we examine two films with the same name, both advertised in the classified section of the current issue of Harper's magazine.

As Tears Go By
On DVD from: Kino
Origins: From Hong Hong, the first feature film from renowned Ray-banned time time traveling music video romantic Wong Kar-wai.
Kink appeal: Nothing captures the swelling agony of withheld love quite like the beautiful Cantopop superstars Andy Lau and Maggie Cheung longing for each other to the strains of Berlin's "Take My Breath Away." Also, their characters are supposed to be first cousins.

As Tears Go By and As Tears Go By, 2
On DVD from: Shadow Lane ("The Romance of Discipline")
Origins: From Las Vegas, presented as part of Shadow Lane's "Complete Spanking Network" (149 spanking videos; coming soon: London Derrieres).
Kink appeal: Well.
