FREE By Donation Movie Tonight

fbed/1242943326-negritude.pngExit Art, whose latest exhibition of installation and conceptual art Négritude (about Afro-Caribbean identities and Diasporas) opened with a bangin' reception on Wednesday, begins its concurrent film festival Négritude: Brazilian Film Series curated Tânia Cypriano tonight (through July 24). Things kick off tonight with Black Atlantic: On the Orixás Route (Renato Barbieri, 1998), which tracks the African influences in that seeped into Brazilian culture over centuries, especially in religious matters. Screenings are every Friday at 6pm, with a $5 suggested donation and a cash bar. Click here for the whole series schedule.
