Free Therapy! (With an Actor Playing a Convict)

Posted by on Mon, Jun 1, 2009 at 2:37 PM

2181/1243874698-convicts.jpgA week-long public performance art/experimental street theater piece kicks off today at arts organization chashama's 217 Window (217 E 42nd St, between Second and Third Aves), where visitors can have a free one-on-one therapy session with an actor playing a convict. Convict Therapist is organized and performed by members of The Arcade theater group, and lets patients pick what kind of convict they consult with (ie. murderer, drug kingpin, Ponzi scheme mastermind, etc.). Performances run today through Friday between 12-2pm and 4:30-6:30pm. For more details click here, and don't miss this rare chance to get some free therapy — even if it's from an unqualified actor playing an even less qualified convict.
