Posted by on Fri, Jun 5, 2009 at 1:47 PM

54a6/1244223420-dovaliposter.jpgDov and Ali, a new play by Anna Ziegler and directed by Katherine Kovner that opens today at the Cherry Lane Theatre, has an Orthodox Jewish teacher and a strict Muslim facing off at their Detroit school. Beyond their obvious antagonisms, both are faced with the similar difficulties of conforming to rigorous religious rules while the world around them doesm just the opposite. Recently, Kovner took the time to answer some questions about the play (which runs through June 27), her work with The Playwrights Realm and her experiences in New York theater.
