Art Another Arts Festival, or a Figment of our Imagination?

I'm a little annoyed with the folks at FIGMENT, not because they picked the same weekend as our Northside Festival to throw their massive art extravaganza on Governors Island, but because that means I probably won't get to go. FIGMENT 2009 kicked off today on the newly beach bar-equipped and recently zombie-infested island, and features a massive slate of exhibitions, workshops, performances and special events continuing through Sunday. The festival also features the unveiling of two installations that will remain on the island through October 11: an interactive sculpture garden (not sure what it means, but I'm hooked) and artist-designed mini-golf.
