FREE BOOZE! Art Events Tonight

Posted By on Fri, Jun 12, 2009 at 3:06 PM

This all seems rather superfluous, since you're obviously going to all the gallery events tonight at the Northside Festival as part of the Williamsburg Gallery Association's monthly Second Fridays, right? There will be openings, receptions, artist talks, performances and music at virtually every gallery on the Northside map, plus the after-party at My Moon (9pm-2am, 184 N 10th). For the full lineup of art events at Northside tonight, click here.

Lower East Side
Jane Benson's wacky, hybrid sculptures (work pictured) at Thierry Goldberg Projects, 5 Rivington St (between Chrystie St and Bowery), 6-8pm
Ernest Concepcion paints and draws dark, comic dreams at NY Studio Gallery, 154 Stanton St (at Suffolk St), 7-9pm

More art events after the jump.

Red Hook
Trevor Babb prepares for the inevitable with Disaster Kit at WORK, 65 Union St (at Van Brunt St), 7:30pm

Magical landscapes in Forces of Nature at Danese, 535 W 24th St, 6th Fl (between Tenth and Eleventh Aves), 6-8pm

Screening of Abolição (Abolition) (Sozimo Bulbul, 1988) as part of the Négritude: Brazilian Film Series at Exit Art, 475 Tenth Ave (at 36th St), 6pm, $5 suggested donation.
