Northside Video: Chat with John Vanderslice

Posted by Jonny Diamond on Fri, Jun 12, 2009 at 4:44 PM

The lovely John Vanderslice has long been one of the most respected analog sound geniuses in all of America. Seriously, his all-analog recording studio in San Francisco, Tiny Telephone, is like a shrine to the art of recording. But he actually uses it — specifically, to make albums with the likes of Death Cab for Cutie, Spoon and Nada Surf. But wait, I recently caught him at the Ethical Society of New York (srsly), along with The Mountain Goats, and the guy is a fantastic singer-songwriter. You should go see him tonight at the Music Hall of Williamsburg.
