Trailers by Godard

They often say Jean-Luc Godard's movies are like essays, in which case tonight's lecture and screening of all his trailers from the 60s will be like reading a series of abstracts, which doesn't sound that fun but it totally will be. Bientôt sur cet écran starts at 8:45pm sharp at Cleopatra's (110 Meserole Ave at Manhattan Ave, Greenpoint) with the screening lasting about an hour accompanied by notes from art historian and critic Colby Chamberlain. Space is limited, so get there early and BYOB. If you're not familiar with the joyous artistry of a Godard trailer, here's a taste of what to expect:
