Theater Free Theater Tonight: Gay Rights and Doomed Relationships

As always, Mondays are a great night for free play readings, and tonight three downtown theaters are hosting. At the Public Theater (425 Lafayette St), the second-to-last in their Emerging Writers Group Spotlight Series will be a reading of Mission, a new play by Raúl Castillo about a pregnant woman visiting her dead lover's family in South Texas. Meanwhile, DR2 (103 E 15th St) is hosting the latest of the 2009 INKubator Summer Series, Dusty and The Big Bad World by Cusi Cram, about a censorship and gay marriage. The reading starts at 7pm, click here for details and reservations.
Finally, at the Players Theatre (115 MacDougal St) the TRU Voices New Plays Reading Series closes its 2009 season with a reading of Always, Always Not, a new play by Skot Davis about a couple whose long-shaky relationship is dealt a fatal blow.
