Sunny Day Real Estate Announce Full Reunion, New York Show

Posted By on Tue, Jun 23, 2009 at 1:38 PM

On a day that started out with confirmation of two shows in the northwest, Sunny Day Real Estate have now officially announced a 20-date U.S. tour, which includes a stop at our own Terminal 5 on September 27. Sub Pop also announced plans to reissue the band's first two albums, Diary and LP2 (the pink one) on September 15. I listened to both records this morning, and Diary, which is widely considered their best and most influential work, sounds a little dated to me, with production that's far cheesier than I remembered. LP2, though, is a monster of an album that had me thinking not about all the terrible emo bands Sunny Day inspired, but about Band of Horses and Sigur Ros, strangely. Full list of tour dates, plus a video, after the jump.
