The death over a week ago of legendary pop singer Michael Jackson continues to ripple through the entertainment industry (the Staples Center funeral tomorrow, Madonna's minutes-long tribute at the arena where his 50-show extravaganza was to take place), and now the most epic, momentous MJ-related news yet comes to us via Power 105.1: Mase is coming back! In an interview transcribed at HipHopDX, mid-90s rap mainstay Mase told DJ Self:
"Mike passed away and it just lit the fire in me—it made me go in the studio and do something. I'm excited."
"I asked my nephew who is the hottest thing out there and he said, "Drake!' When I listened to his music I said, 'I'm going to jump on this joint.'"
"I've got things up my sleeves, I just need someone to play them."
