More sad times for the music industry today, as news broke that the longrunning and, for some of us, legendary independent distributor Lumberjack Mordam Music Group is shutting down immediately. They've worked with over a hundred labels over the years, and while they'd focused more on punk and hardcore of late, I will forever remember them as ground zero for much of the late-90s emo boom, with labels like Doghouse, Initial and, aptly, Sympathy For the Record Industry. I think I might still have some copies of their old print catalogs in my parents' basement, and I definitely still have the first Get-Up Kids 7" I ordered from them. Sigh. Please go out and buy a record from someone who isn't a dick.
