Music Julian Casablancas is Still Alive

It's been quite a while since we last heard from Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas, but he's back now, with plans to release his debut solo record, Phrazes for the Young, this fall on Cult Records. The album will feature eight songs, which were recorded in New York, Los Angeles and Omaha with production help from Jason Lader and Mike Mogis. There's a "preview" at his website, but there's no singing—just a mostly electronic beat and some strange footage, including a really hilarious shot of Casablancas looking all sad and mysterious in the rain (pictured above, obviously). I am more excited about this than I should probably let on in a public setting.
