Music MCA Diagnosed With Cancer, Beastie Boys Cancel Dates

Scary news from the Beastie Boys camp today, as Adam Yauch (MCA) has been diagnosed with a tumor on his parotid gland. It was caught early enough that it seems surgery and some follow-up treatment should knock it out. They've canceled some tour dates, and the release of their forthcoming album has been pushed back indefinitely. MCA himself recorded a message for fans, in which he refers to cancer as a "pain in the ass" because he is awesome.

My childhood cat had the same form of cancer. We had to get him the really soft Fancy Feast.
