The winners of the Brooklyn Botanical Garden's 14th annual
Greenest Block in Brooklyn were just announced, and the big winners are the folks on
this block of Lincoln Road between Bedford and Roger Avenues in Lefferts Gardens. Runners up in the residential category hail from Flatbush, Bed-Stuy and Crown Heights.
Meanwhile, the winner in the category I always monitor very closely (because it's the only one I might ever get to compete in), Best Window-Box, was Hazel Deane of 338 East 25th Street (pictured). As per usual, the absence of any winners in Greenpoint/Williamsburg/Bushwick (out of 40 winners!) confirms what we all know is true: North Brooklyn is crazy fugly.
