I Hope I Die Before I Have to Cancel A Show Due to the Heat

Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson, who've been touring minor league baseball stadiums non-stop for what seems like somewhere around thirty years, have canceled their show in Phoenix tonight, because they're worried about everyone's health, wink-wink.

"Given the weather forecast and excessive heat predicted for Tuesday, August 11 in the Phoenix area, it has been determined that these conditions have the potential to cause a serious health risk to the public, as well as the working personnel at the venue. After careful consideration, it has been determined that this potential risk is too great for all involved."

It's 102 degrees there right now, with 17% humidity making it feel like it's 99 degrees. Considering the average high for this time of year is 105, I can't imagine the venue employees and ticket-holders, most of whom presumably live in or around Phoenix, are incapable of dealing with such conditions. I mean, I understand why Bob and Willie wouldn't want to be all like, "We've got to cancel because we are old as fuck and will definitely die if we go out there tonight," but perhaps next time they should consider a different tour route.
