Film / Music Common Stars in Hilarious Training Day Remake

So this is really weird, and I can only assume it's going to turn out to be some kind of viral advertisement. Chicago rapper and actor Common and comedian Christopher "McLovin" Mintz-Plasse recently starred in this 5-minute remake of the Denzel Washington-Ethan Hawke movie Training Day, which featured a couple rappers of its own and has already been mocked/parodied/paid tribute by Dave Chappelle and Wayne Brady
What is this mystery mini-movie trying to sell us?

it's part of msn's cinemash, where they get two actors to play other roles, i.e. zooey and joseph playing sid and nancy, respectively.
