They Might Be Giants Teach Children About Atheism

Posted By on Thu, Sep 17, 2009 at 3:07 PM

Brooklyn mainstays They Might Be Giants have just released a childrens album called Here Comes Science, the third in a series of educational albums that's already included Here Come the ABCs and Here Come the 123s. The opening track, "Science is Real," could and probably should be seen as a not-so-thinly veiled shot at religion. Here's the best part:

I like the stories
About angels, unicorns and elves
Now I like the stories
As much as anybody else
But when I'm seeking knowledge
Either simple or abstract
The facts are with science
The facts are with science
Science is real

Does anyone have a child for whom they'd like me to buy a present?
