Exciting news arrived to our theater inbox yesterday to the effect that legendary T-Mobile
spokesperson Catherine Zeta-Jones will make her Broadway debut alongside perennial lady of the American theater
Angela Lansbury (who won her 5th Tony Award this year for her role in Noel Coward's
Blithe Spirit) come late November in a new production of
A Little Night Music at the Walter Kerr Theatre, directed by Trevor Nunn.
The oft-revived musical with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and a book by Hugh Wheeler was inspired by Ingmar Bergman's exquisite 1955 film Smiles of a Summer Night. Previews of A Little Night Music begin on November 24 with opening night set for December 13 and tickets going on sale October 17.
