Next Fall, a play by Geoffrey Nauffts of
Naked Angels about one member of a gay couple's crisis of conscience in reconciling his lifestyle with his Christian fundamentalist beliefs, which had a very successful run this summer off-Broadway, will be taking over the theater vacated by
The 39 Steps next spring.
As a drama that deals in some fairly weighty issues (religion, sexuality and the reconciliation of the one with the other), it will be interesting to see how this transfer fairs alongside things like, you know, Spider-Man or something. We'll find out when the show opens at the Helen Hayes Theatre on March 11—previews begin in mid-February. (Upstaged)
