Music The Roots Are Officially a Brooklyn Band Now

The new video for the first single off the Roots's forthcoming ninth album (like the song, entitled How I Got Over, and currently slated for an unknown late 2009 release date) pretty much confirms that New York City can claim the Philly hip hop group as its own. Their day job as house band for Late Night with Jimmy Fallon has already made them full-time New Yorkers, and their moody new video was shot entirely in South Williamsburg from the looks of things—rather than, like, South Philly—so maybe it's time to get these guys an "Honorary Brooklynite" plaque or something.
