The
Crosby Street Hotel, a new boutique joint ($495 per night!) in Soho opening its restaurant very soon and its rooms a little later, is the first stateside outpost of Firmdale Hotels, a British company that
likes to
put art front and
center to attract those artsy rich folk.
Their new Soho spot, with its entrance on Crosby between Spring and Prince, already features a custom-made gate to its Lafayette cafe from blacksmith James Gravey, and now, per Curbed, its lobby will feature a giant text head sculpture (pictured) by Spanish artist Jaume Plensa, whose monumental and magical work, incidentally, is currently the subject of a major solo show at Galerie Lelong in Chelsea (a.k.a. the new Soho).
