N.E.R.D. Has a New Member (of the Female Gender)

N.E.R.D., the band formed by super-producer duo The Neptunes (Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo) and drummer Shae Haley, announced Tuesday that they were adding a fourth member to the group: a female vocalist named Rhea. According to MTV News, Rhea auditioned for the group on Skype and will join them on Jay-Z's Blueprint 3 Tour and on their next album, Instant Gratification, currently slated for an unspecified 2010 release date.

In other N.E.R.D.-related news, Pharrell recently starred in artist Yi Zhou's short film The Ear, which is too weird to describe:
