The New Black Eyed Peas Video is Some Hilarious Orientalist Extravaganza

Posted by Benjamin Sutton on Tue, Oct 13, 2009 at 2:41 PM

The latest Black Eyed Peas video, for "Meet Me Halfway", starts off with Fergie frolicking in an Henri Rousseau painting and apl.de.ap floating in the desert like a genie. Then will.i.am walks across the moon on an elephant and, well, the song and the video lose whatever semblance of crazy music video logic they had to begin with. The BEP crew brings it all back together, though, by jumping into mirrors like the bad guys in the first Superman movie.

Weird as the video was, I enjoyed every minute of it. The Black Eyed Peas are always finding new ways to keep fans engaged in their music videos.
