Meanwhile, yesterday during previews of the fair, New York gallery Lehmann Maupin sold works amounting to over a quarter million dollars, including paintings by Takashi Murakami protege Mr., and two neons by Tracey Emin. All that and more—like Patti Smith playing a Mapplethorpe exhibition opening—before the fair even opened.
