The Problem With Populism

Posted by Mike Conklin on Tue, Oct 27, 2009 at 2:28 PM

The problem with populism is that it encourages the type of intellectual acrobatics that, if you're not careful, can lead to ridiculous revisionist arguments like, "Hey you guys, Creed wasn't so bad after all!" Because you know what? They were. And they still are. Don't believe me? Yeah, press play. [via Idolator]

One cult for another... was that an attempt at harmony?

When I was dorming in my Freshman year of college, my next door neighbor left his Itunes on overnight. On a repeating playlist that consisted of Creed and Puddle of Mud. Only Creed and Puddle of Mud.

I practically broke down the door with my fist, until I realized he had gone home for the weekend.

Needless to say, I got my own apartment the next year. And appreciate Creed hatred in any print, electronic or verbal fashion.
