Two Artists Will Freeze Foreclosed Detroit House

Posted by Benjamin Sutton on Tue, Oct 27, 2009 at 1:27 PM

Ice House Detroit
Remember how I wrote (to some dissenters' dismay) that the dilapidated buildings and abandoned homes of Detroit were inspiring some really beautiful art? (Incidentally, Andrew Moore opens a show of Detroit ruin photography at Yancey Richardson Gallery next week.) Now two New York-based artists are planning the most ambitious re-envisioning of depressed Detroit yet.

According to the AP, photographer Gregory Holm and architect Matthew Radune are going to freeze one of the Motor City's 80,000 foreclosed homes. The project is called Ice House Detroit, and you can help them raise the $11,000 they'll need right here. (Artinfo)

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/104779… just notice comments from Greg and Matt there at the bottom of the page. And in the end they didn't donate a dime. And now they turn around and are asking for $11,000? Seriously, this is biggest piece of bullshit I've seen in a while. Sorry guys, but it had to be said.
