Busta Rhymes Working on New Energy Drink and Illness-Themed Album

Busta Rhymes Mountain Dew
Remember how Busta Rhymes used to be a spokesperson for Mountain Dew? Apparently being associated with a soft drink considered by many to be little more than carbonated spermicide (urban legend, but still) isn't enough for Busta, so now he's working on his own energy drink called Venom and a new album titled The Chemo. According to Billboard.com, the record will come out in early 2010, although given Busta's recent inability to muster anything close to the numbers (not to mention quality of music) that he did 10 years ago, positing himself as the guy to cure mainstream rap seems like a strategy that's doomed to fail. Busta explains:
I called the album The Chemo because it seems like the industry and music overall is dying slowly. The cancer that's stricken the business is killing the music, not only from a business standpoint, but also the value of the content and the creativity behind it.

So basically... old rap stars aren't making as much money as they used to, so Busta's going to start selling a caffeinated mixer. I'm actually looking forward to seeing the ads for Venom more than hearing the new record, which I suspect will continue his string of recent awful D-grade gangsta rap stuff. May I suggest the Patch Adams treatment: Make us laugh, Busta, and your career will get better again.
