Newton Creek, the startlingly filthy waterway between Greenpoint and Long Island City, has been nominated to become a Superfund site, which means the Federal government (via the EPA) would chip in for its clean-up, and force past polluters to do the same.

Confused? Have any questions? The city's hosting an information session tonight, with a presentation followed by a Q&A. See city government in action! Details after the jump.

Where?
Automotive High School, 50 Bedford Avenue, between Lorimer and N. 12th. (See map)

When?
Tonight, Tuesday, December 8, at 6 p.m.

Why?
I just told you.

What if I have more questions about tonight?
Contact Phil Young from the Mayor's Office
(212) 788-9541, pyoung@cityhall.nyc.gov

Will you be there?
I wish, but I have tickets for Finian's Rainbow.
