Music / News Breathe Easy, Brooklyn. Jelly’s Pool Parties Will Be Back.

They’re on, they’re off; they’re back on again. A Christmas miracle! The Brooklyn Paper reported yesterday that JellyNYC’s famed “pool parties” will indeed take place this summer at East River State Park following a successful 2009 season at the same location and a three-year run at McCarren Park Pool (a moment of silence please). This comes six weeks after the announcement that the Department of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation might not be able to accommodate the free outdoor concert series for reasons not entirely clear.

So this is obviously good news for anyone who enjoys drinking alcoholic beverages within a contained area or seeing the likes of Grizzly Bear, TV on the Radio and Girl Talk with a mass amount of hip young things who may or may not include Jay-Z and Beyoncé. “We’re going to go pretty big this year for our fifth anniversary,” JellyNYC founder Alexander Kane promised. “It’ll be our coolest year yet." Alright. We're ready for winter to be done now.
