You Want Literary Culture, Move to Europe: Kirkus and E&P Shut Down

I'd like to think that the rise of
lit-blogging and the concomitant irrelevancy of publications like
Kirkus Reviews and
Editor & Publisher is the main reason for Nielsen Media
deciding to shut them both down after acquiring their parent media company, but I'm sure the conversation wasn't much more nuanced than "books won't make us money." Hey, you know what makes money? PORN and CELEBRITIES. Make your kids proud, everyone. /sad rant
