Art City Losing One of Its Best Architecture Galleries Next Week

Since the Urban Center opened in 1980, it has always served as a venue where citizens and professionals alike have come to discuss and discover the various projects and ideas that are changing the cityscape. Subsequent architecture galleries like the Center for Architecture and the Storefront for Art and Architecture have been modeled after the Urban Center to be both exhibition spaces and venues for debate and exchange. Though the Municipal Arts Society, which runs the Center, holds out the possibility that it will reopen in the fall, how or where that will happen is very unclear.
