When Paste Magazine
ran into some financial troubles that almost put them out of business entirely last year, they asked readers for donations to keep the magazine alive, and in the process they received $250,000. As a thank you to the 10,000 people who contributed, they gave away 250 MP3s of tracks by artists like Of Montreal, The Decemberists, the Jayhawks and Jason Isbell.
And they've opened up that vault once more, with the launch of "Songs for Haiti: 2010 Earthquake Relief," wherein they're making all the songs available to anyone who donates or has already donated money to help recovery efforts in Haiti. And for all you "have already" people, they're working on the honor system here, so don't be an asshole. Seriously.
