Paris' Fashion Week Is Artsier, Creepier Than New York's

George Condo Paris Fashion Week
The above image is from opening night of Men's fashion week in Paris last week, where designer Adam Kimmel showed off his fall-winter designs for 2010 on models who also wore custom-designed masks made by longtime Downtown art star George Condo. The presentation was also unlike a traditional runway show in that there was no runway, but instead the models and audience members mingled in a fully functional casino set up for the event at Yvon Lambert Gallery. Artinfo has more pictures of the unusual evening, and you can catch Condo's grimacing characters next month when he makes his second appearance at the Whitney Biennial.
