New York City Will Buy You an Off-Broadway Ticket

Mr. and Mrs. Fitch at Second Stage
Right after this year's 20at20 Off-Broadway discount deal ends on Sunday, the city's tourism agency is stepping in with another sweet cheap ticket deal that's not just for tourists. Starting February 8 and continuing though the 28th, On The House will buy you a second ticket "on the house" for every ticket you buy to 26 Off-Broadway shows.

And we're not just talking Avenue Q, STOMP and The Fantasticks (although, yes, all three of those are included), but also great and interesting plays like Sam Shepard's excellent Ages of the Moon, the eagerly-anticipated Ethan Hawke-directed revival of Shepard's A Lie of the Mind, Clybourne Park at Playwrights Horizons and Happy Now? at 59E59 Theaters. Of course, some of the choicest productions are already booked solid, like Mr. and Mrs. Fitch (pictured) at Second Stage starring John Lithgow and Jennifer Ehle, so book yourself a free ticket (or several) before all the good shows are gone.
