A few weeks ago, Matador Records announced that they'd be releasing Together, the fourth album from indie rock super-group The New Pornographers, on May 4th. At the time, we learned that the album would feature guest appearances by St. Vincent's Annie Clark, Beirut's Zach Condon, Okkervil River's Will Sheff, as well as the horn section from Sharon Jones' Dap Kings. In an interview with Paste, head Pornographer A.C. Newman talked about what it was to work with such talented people.

“When [Clark] was playing, I was thinking that this is almost too easy,” Newman says. “When you’re trying to figure out a great guitar solo, all you have to do is call her up and she’ll show up and do it. I definitely feel lucky that way, on top of just everybody in the group. We’ve got a singer [Case] who had a number three record last year. It all seems kind of absurd sometimes.”

I want Annie Clark to write a guitar solo for everything I do. Like, "Oh, hey Annie? Yeah, I'm writing a blog post about Taylor Swift dropping her Grammy--could you do me a solid and soundtrack that shit with a solo? I'm thinking Mark Knopfler meets Thurston Moore meets Joe Walsh."

Anyway, we're still waiting, impatiently, for the first single from the album. Matador? A little help?
