Film Gervais! Simpsons! Three Dimensions!

Ricky Gervais' The Ricky Gervais Show debuts on HBO in a few weeks; having realized how easy it is to make a cartoon, he's now working on adapting his popular picture-book series (for kids and adults!) into a feature film! In three dimensional animation!

Gervais will collaborate with Matt Selman, Paste reports, a producer and staff writer at The Simpsons, credited with co-penning the overacclaimed "Behind the Laughter" episode among many others.

Illumination predicts a 2011 release.
