Keith Haring mural 1985
As we continue with the Deitch Projects deathwatch—in light of gallery founder and director Jeffrey Deitch's new job as museum director at L.A.'s MoCA—we were happy, and then confused, to receive word yesterday that after the reconstruction of Keith Haring's 1985 San Francisco mural (pictured) comes down on Tuesday, one of Deitch's top earners, Kehinde Wiley, will present a new series of portraits of African soccer players commissioned by Puma for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

The show of Wiley's hyper-realist, overly ornate and practically Baroque paintings will only be up at 18 Wooster Street for three days next week (February 18-20), to be followed a show by Rosson Crow next month. Check out Puma's somewhat interesting, somewhat icky Inspirational Documentary on the project after the jump.
