Aside from a few weeks in the 5th grade or something, before I'd been forever changed by the revolutionary sounds of, um, 10,000 Maniacs, I never really cared for Guns N' Roses. Then a few years later, by which point I'd officially aligned myself with Nirvana, I viewed them as the racist, homophobic, misogynistic enemy of everything that was real and just. In retrospect, it's perhaps a bit silly, but deep down, I still don't really think so. This, of course, is not to say that I wouldn't have liked to have been at the John Varvatos store last night, where Axl Rose led a bunch of people claiming to be Guns N' Roses through a 17-song set that featured exclusively old material.
