The eight minute Spanish short The Lady and the Reaper is one of five nominees for Best Animated Short at this year's Oscars—I blogged about another, Logorama, a while back. It's quite sad (especially given its Indiana Jones-caliber cross-cave roller coaster sequence) and a little reminiscent of Up in its portrayal of a lonely old person. It also seems, in the end, to be pro-euthanasia, which in light of at least one recent Oscar winner, might give it the upper hand in the often unpredictable Animated Short section. Check it out after the jump. (Fubiz)
