News Insidious Expansion of Duane Reade Into Williamsburg Now Even Worse (They've Been Bought By Walgreen's)

Things used to be so different.

It was bad enough when the first Duane Reade opened up under one of the riverside condos in Williamsburg, but news that another D.R. would be opening directly across from locally-owned, independently run Kings Pharmacy upset a lot of people.

It's worse now, though. Duane Reade has been purchased by Walgreen's, so it's not even New York City's ubiquitous chain drugstore, it's Deerfield, Illinois' ubiquitous chain drugstore. Bah.
