Despite the wet, stupid snow (jk, i still love you, snow) we actually had a Mardi Gras Parade last night in Williamsburg (sponsored by Southern Comfort), that led revelers to a big old Mardi Gras party at Brooklyn Bowl, featuring Wavves and MNDR. Masks were worn, beads were thrown, fun was had. Photo evidence after the jump, along with a report from L Mag cub reporter Lauren "The Columbus Kid" Beck.

And now to Lauren "I'm Not From Dayton" Beck's report:
We've been talking a lot about this free Wavves show that we planned to celebrate Fat Tuesday, and we're pretty happy to say that things went off without a hitch, despite the snow and freezing temperatures. After a high-energy set by MNDR, Wavves main man Nathan Williams took the stage, joined by the bassist and drummer of Jay Reatard's former band in their first-ever U.S. appearance as a trio. He was in classic Wavves form, interjecting loud, shambling, lo-fi surf punk with the commentary of a 13-year-old boy... requests for more alcohol, awkward/inappropriate jokes, that sort of thing. Say what you will, but the kid has an innate ability to incite a mosh pit and make everyone around him also act like a 13-year-old boy, which is precisely why we love him so.
A big thanks to all those who came out, especially the five sorta-celebrities we spotted. Here's the part where we brag about it and tell you who:
1. a Vivian Girl (at least 90 percent sure, although couldn't get an up-close look)
2. guy from Passion Pit
3. guy from Titus Andronicus
4. John Norris
(who was separated at birth from)
5. Kevin Bacon
It was the best Fat Tuesday ever.
