News Earthquakes Not Early Signs of Coming Apocalypse, Associated Press Reports

Some bored AP editor got a little frisky with the subhed for this article, reassuring us that the recent spate of significant earthquakes is likely a coincidence: "Bob Holdsworth, an expert in tectonics at Durham University, said Monday that 'I can definitely tell you that the world is not coming to an end.'"

Typical self-centered seismologist bullshit, assuming that earthquakes are the only possible sign of impending apocalypse. What about the accelerating rate of extinction, hm? Just because your area of study isn't harbinging systemic catastrophe doesn't mean the end times aren't upon us, jeez.
